If you're configuring your MIDI setup for the first time, having trouble getting your MIDI studio to work properly, or want to know more on the topic, then this session is for you.
Even though I've been using MIDI recording equipment for over 17 years, I still find the setup process to be the most frustrating. It's very common to have everything connected and installed and for your gear to still not function properly.
If this is you, don't worry...!
...It's very normal for this to happen.
There are hundreds of types of MIDI gear and computers. Therefore every setup is somewhat unique.
My goal for this session is to show you the main types of MIDI setups with step-by-step instructions to help you avoid some of the frustration and pitfalls.
After completing the steps above, you may still have problems getting your MIDI setup to function properly. Remember this is normal. You have two options, you can read my session on MIDI troubleshooting, or you can get yourself a musicians club.
NOTE!! What's a musicians club you ask? It's simply a stiff leather club that musicians keep handy for these very frustrating moments. You simply place it in your dominant hand and BEAT THE LIVING CRAP out of anything within reach!
No not really :)
All kidding aside, if you are still having trouble getting your MIDI studio to work, my troubleshooting session may be just the ticket!
